Joined LDS Church about 1978, I was impressed with the emphasis on family, church community, and mutual support. I was also impressed that the church didn’t have a professional fleet of polished, slick preachers with sparkling smiles. Except for attending a single temple dedication, I never went to the temple and didn’t seek a temple marriage, although I had a temple recommendation for a while. To me, the few temple ceremonies I was aware of seemed to be almost carbon-copies of various mason rituals. I also never felt the need to give much money to the seemingly richest church in the world. I guess I was never what you would call a true believer. I went inactive about 2007, when the last of my kids grew up and left home. Wife died of cancer in 2018. Married Laura Ferguson in 2021. Laura introduced me to MWAW in 2019. I am open-minded and always willing to learn new things. I like that real truth doesn’t cost anything.
